Lake Dongting is still in my eyes,
“Green Grass” is its name as we continue on.
Overnight oars beside farming work,
the post station notice tells the stages of the water journey.
Cold ice floes compete to draw near,
cloudy moon alternately faint then bright.
Lake geese rise in pair after pair,
when someone comes, on purpose they fare on north.
1. 宿: spending the night.
2. 犹在目: still in my eyes.
3. 农事: farming work, 记住: work这里取单数。依: beside
4. 递微明: alternately faint then bright.
5. 双双起: rise pair after pair.
6. 故北征: on purpose they fare on north. Fare: proceed or get along.
I just love the simplicity and brevity of the Chinese characters in these lovely poems. They never fail to awe. I never have enough of their beauty.
